公元前，漢高祖劉邦(劉燁飾)臥病在床，夜夜被噩夢纏繞，宿敵項羽之身影揮之不去。一時間，寢宮內風鶴魂驚，皇后呂雉(秦嵐飾)奉命剷除皇權威脅，諸臣人人自危-想當日劉邦私入秦皇宮，觸怒項羽(吳彥祖飾)，不得不負荊請罪。鴻門席上，波譎雲詭，項羽控有生殺大權，劉邦伴君如伴虎，一步一驚心，幸得持戟郎中韓信(張震飾)棄楚投漢援兵相救，才得以保住性命。鴻門一念之差，三人命運從此改寫。劉邦登台拜將蓄勢待發，韓信喜受重用，垓下一戰勢如破竹立下大功，詎料項羽兵敗自刎一刻，也是劉邦決心誅除韓信之時。君要臣死，欲加之罪，何患無辭？呂后誣告韓信夜襲太子意圖謀反，開國功臣張良、蕭何為保性命，也不得不埋沒良心，把好兄弟推向懸崖。唐有玄武門之變，宋有杯酒釋兵權，如果歷史是可鑑之車，為甚麼劉邦、韓信、張良、蕭何的故事在中國歷史上不斷被重演？是人都經不起慾望和權力的誘惑？被竄改的歷史真相，又有沒有被還原的一天？
